It's interesting how our feelings are shaped by our expectations. Today, I flew back to NYC on Spirit. Like most people, I don’t expect much—just to arrive safely. Anything more is a bonus. The flight departed on time, I had an empty seat next to me, there were no issues, and the ticket cost only $15. On another airline, this would be typical (except for the price), but here, it felt rewarding because my low expectations were exceeded. This applies to life: expect nothing, remain hopeful, and any outcome can leave you content at worst or ecstatic at best.
